About Us

The Oakland Prayer Group is a ministry of St. Paul Cathedral in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. We meet to worship, pray and cultivate life in the Holy Spirit together. The ministry is open to all ages and all backgrounds.

Vision

To further the Kingdom of Heaven, and to see the Holy Spirit set the Heart of the Church on fire as we come together to pray.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Mission

Evangelization of those who have not heard the Gospel, the new evangelization of fallen away baptized Christians and the deeper conversion of those who know and follow Jesus closely.

Charism

To be one in Love. To live the grace of Jesus' prayer to the Father:

"I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one - I in them and you in me - so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."
